Can I watch NOW TV outside the UK?

As well as watching all over the UK with no restrictions, you can take your NOW TV Passes with you to many European countries too, for up to 30 days at a time.

To enjoy roaming with NOW TV outside the UK, you must:

  • Have a UK payment card registered on your account
  • Have watched NOW TV on your account in the UK within the last 30 days
  • Be in one of the EU countries listed below – you can't watch NOW TV in any non-EU countries.

You don't need to do anything differently when watching NOW TV outside the UK. Just make sure the country you're in is covered, and start watching on any of our supported devices.

Where can't I watch?

You won’t be able to watch NOW TV in non-EU countries within Europe, or in any other countries outside Europe.

European countries and territories where roaming isn't available include:

  • Iceland
  • Liechtenstein
  • Northern Cyprus
  • Norway
  • Switzerland
  • Turkey

As your NOW TV service is only for UK residents, roaming abroad is only available for 30 days at a time. After that, you'll need to confirm you're still a UK resident by watching NOW TV back in the UK before you can watch abroad again.

After you've watched NOW TV back in the UK again, you're free to start another 30 day roaming period next time you travel to any of the eligible countries listed above.

Can't watch back in the UK?

We're aware some customers may experience issues watching NOW TV back in the UK after reaching the limit for watching abroad. We're working to fix this as soon as we can.

In the meantime, you can start watching again by re-entering your card details in Payment details.

You won’t be able to sign up for NOW TV UK or buy any new NOW TV Passes when roaming. All NOW TV Passes must be purchased while in the UK.

You can still enjoy many of the apps on your NOW TV Box or Smart Stick when travelling in the countries listed above, including Netflix, YouTube and Vevo.

However NOW TV is not responsible for catch up apps like BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4 and Demand 5. These apps might not work outside the UK.

Yes you can – you’ll be able to enjoy your NOW TV Passes in exactly the same way when travelling in any of the countries listed above.

And if you've got a NOW TV Smart Box, you won’t be able to watch any of the UK Freeview channels when travelling abroad.

Bought a Sky Sports Day or Week Pass while in the UK, but haven’t activated it yet?

You can activate your Sports Pass and start watching while roaming in any of the countries listed above, as long as you have a UK payment card registered on your account and you’ve watched NOW TV in the UK in the last 30 days.

You can watch NOW TV as usual in the UK areas below, with no restrictions or time limits:

  • Northern Ireland
  • Channel Islands
  • Scottish Islands
  • Isle of Man

To roam in Europe with your NOW TV UK account, you must be a UK resident. Registering a UK payment card on your account confirms that you’re a resident of the UK.

Go to Payment details and switch to a UK payment card before you travel to make sure you can watch abroad.

There's no difference to the quality of the stream you receive when roaming compared to streaming at home.

However other factors outside of NOW TV's control, such as your Wi-Fi connection and the mobile data speed available in the country you're in, can affect your stream.
