Why wasn't my payment authorised?
You might see the error message 'Payment not authorised' when you enter your payment card details to join NOW.
This could be for one of the following reasons:
You don’t have any money available in your bank account
Your account needs to have some available balance when you register your payment details with NOW. If you don't have any balance available, your details won't be authorised.
If you have another account with balance available, you can enter those details instead.
Signing up via PayPal? You'll need to have at least £1 available in your bank account to join NOW.
You gave us the wrong address
The billing address you enter has to match the address your card is registered to. If it’s different, your payment won't be authorised.
Please make sure that you’ve entered the correct address for your card and try again.
You entered the wrong card number or security code
Check that you’ve entered all card details correctly, including the long card number on the front and the security code (the last 3 digits on the back of your card).
Your card has expired
Check whether the expiry date on your card has passed. If so, you’ll need to try again with a new card.
Your card has been suspended
If none of the above apply, it's possible your card has been suspended by your bank or the card issuer.
This can happen for a variety of reasons – get in touch with your bank or card issuer to check.
