NOW Entertainment Membership
How to start an Entertainment Membership
Already a NOW Member?
If you’ve already got a NOW account, but you’ve never had Entertainment before, you can easily start a free trial.
Just go to My Account, and then NOW Membership (you'll need to sign in, if you haven't already). Then just click on Start free trial next to the Entertainment Membership.
If you’ve had Entertainment before or you’ve already used your free trial, select Add membership.
New to NOW?
To join, head to NOWTV.com/membership and select Start 7 day free trial next to the Entertainment Membership. Then just complete your details and you can start watching straight away.
Are you a BT customer?
If you pay for your membership through BT and you don't have Entertainment as part of your core TV package, it's easy to add it as a bolt-on. Just head to NOW Membership and select Start free trial (or Add membership if you've already had a trial) next to the Entertainment Membership. The cost will be added to your monthly BT bill.

As a new Entertainment member, you get a 7 day free trial. Then it’s £9.99 a month, or cancel anytime.
You get these live channels: Sky 1, Sky Witness, Sky Atlantic, Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, Sky History, Sky Nature, Gold, Sky Crime, Comedy Central, Sky Arts, Fox, MTV, Nat Geo, Discovery Channel and SyFy.
Plus, you get box sets for shows from all of these channels, as well as VICE, Challenge and Pick.
You’ll also find the live Sky News channel in the Entertainment section, although you don’t need a membership to access it. (The Sky News channel is available on most of our supported devices, except for Apple TV 2nd/3rd gen.)
We’re constantly updating and adding to our catch up shows and box sets.
You can browse our catalogue to see the shows and box sets we currently have available.
All you need to get started is:
- One of the devices listed here
- Minimum 2.5Mbps broadband download speed
- A NOW account.
You'll need a Parental PIN to watch 3 of the live Entertainment channels (Sky Atlantic, Sky Comedy and Sky Documentaries) between 5.30am and 9pm. (If you're watching on 2nd/3rd gen Apple TV, you'll need it for all live Entertainment channels at all times.)
If you haven't set up a PIN yet, it's quick and easy to do. Just head to the Settings & PINs section of My Account. If you've got kids in your household and you want to restrict what on-demand shows they can watch with your Entertainment Membership, you can turn your PIN ON and set an age rating here, too.
Watching on YouView?
You don't need a NOW PIN – just enter your YouView PIN. Don't know it? Try the default PIN of 1234, or head to the YouView site for help.
If you've got an Apple or Android smartphone or tablet, you can download shows to your device and watch them anywhere.
Each show can be downloaded twice, and will be saved on your device for up to 30 days. Once you start watching, you've got 48 hours during which you can watch it as many times as you like. Find out more about downloading shows
If you've got NOW Boost, you can watch all the live Entertainment channels in 1080p with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound.
Selected box sets are available in full HD, too – and we're adding more all the time.
You'll see the HD and 5.1 symbols (as shown below) if a show is available in full HD.
Help tipIf you've bought NOW Boost via our website, your account could take up to 4 hours to reflect the fact that you've added it. To get around this, you can trigger your account to update by signing out of the NOW app and signing back in again.
We aim for shows to appear on catch up within 24 hours of first broadcast.
Catch up episodes are usually available for at least 7 days from the date they were first broadcast.
Your first monthly payment will be taken on the day you buy your membership (or if you have a free trial, 7 days after you start your trial). Your next payment will be taken on the same day the following month, or sometimes (if you also added another membership at the same time) a day or two later – in which case you get any extra days for free. Find out how to check your payment date
If you've also got another type of membership, your Entertainment Membership will appear as a separate payment on your statement.
If you're a BT customer, when you add the Entertainment Membership as a bolt-on the cost will be added to your monthly BT bill. To check what you'll pay and when, log in to My BT and look for Billing & Usage.
