NOW's approach to protecting copyright

NOW is committed to providing high-quality entertainment for our customers at the best possible value.

It’s therefore important that we do what we can, alongside the Government and the rest of the media and technology industries, to help protect copyright. This makes sure that consumers continue to benefit from the best TV shows, movies and music. For this reason, NOW takes effective action against online piracy and copyright infringement.

Court orders

Copyright owners have the option of taking legal action against websites that offer their content illegally. When the court agrees that copyright infringement has occurred, the copyright owners can seek a court order which compels internet service providers (ISPs) to block access to those sites.

As a result, NOW blocks websites which are the subject of these orders.

You can see a list of websites we’ve blocked under order of the High Court here. This includes the names of parties that brought the legal action, plus information about challenging any of the orders listed.
