How do I set up or install my Chromecast?
Before setting up your Chromecast, you’ll need:
- A compatible Android or iOS tablet or smartphone, with the NOW app installed. Find out about compatible Chromecast devices and how to get the NOW app.
- An HDTV with an HDMI port
- A NOW account with any membership except Sports Mobile Membership.
Watching NOW on Chromecast
Make sure your device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast.
The NOW homepage will appear on your TV. You can use the NOW app on your smartphone or tablet to find movies, shows or sports.
All done. You can carry on using your smartphone or tablet without interrupting what you’re watching.

When you are setting up, attempting to cast, or using your Chromecast device with NOW, you may come across the message, 'Oops, shouldn't be here.' This is a generic Chromecast message that can appear when there's a fault or glitch.
To fix it, press the reset button on your Chromecast device for around 20–25 seconds. Then try using it again.
NOW won't be able to resolve this issue. It can appear when you use other apps on your Chromecast device as well.
Help tip Any message that appears on your TV when using your Chromecast is a Google Chromecast message. Any message that appears on your iOS or Android device when using your Chromecast is a NOW message.
