'Oops something went wrong' error message on Xbox


If you get an, 'Oops something went wrong' error message on your Xbox 360 or Xbox One, the best thing to do is exit the app and try again. If that doesn't work then please complete these steps:

Clear your Xbox cache

On Xbox 360:
  1. Press the Guide button on your controller
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Select System Settings
  4. Select Storage or Memory
  5. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller (it doesn't matter which storage device you select, the cache will be cleared for all storage devices)
  6. Select Clear System Cache
  7. When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.
On Xbox One:
To clear your cache, just hold down the power button when you turn off your console.

If clearing your cache doesn't work, please delete and re-install the NOW TV app.

Here's some information on deleting the NOW TV app.

Please re-install the NOW TV app using one of the methods below:

Method 1

  1. Go to the Apps section on the dashboard
  2. Click on Browse Apps
  3. Go to the Video section and find the NOW TV app
  4. Click on the app and download.

Method 2

  1. Go to the Apps section on the dashboard
  2. Enter NOW TV into the search field
  3. Press A to search
  4. Click on the app and download.
Start by uninstalling the NOW TV app
  • Highlight the Now TV app and press the menu button on your Xbox One controller
  • Select Manage App
  • Select Uninstall all, and again on the pop-up.
Next, reinstall it
  • Either go to Ready to Install on the left-hand menu and select Install All, then select Install on the pop-up
  • Or just go to the Store on your Xbox One dashboard and download the Now TV app again.

Check your locale (location) settings

Lastly, you'll need to check your locale settings:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Navigate down to System
  3. Select Language and Locale
  4. Click on Location
  5. Confirm that the selected locale is United Kingdom. If it’s not then please select United Kingdom.
