Problems with the NOW TV app on your LG TV

Two common issues may affect the app on your smart TV. Firstly, you may fail to find the NOW TV app on your home screen. Secondly, you may be able to see it, but it’s taking a long time to load.


NOW TV app taking a while to load?

At times, your LG TV may take a while to start up and load the NOW TV app, while reconnecting to the network. Give it a few more minutes to finish loading.

Can’t see the app on your home screen? 

If the NOW TV app isn’t appearing on your home screen, within the Premium section, you’ll need to perform an Initialisation of Premium (thankfully, not as complicated as it sounds).

Just go to your settings to prompt ‘Initialisation’ for all your apps. This clears the decks, so to speak, fixing any corrupt files and ensuring you have the full set of apps on your TV.

To do this:

  • Press the Home / Smart button on your remote control
  • Go to Settings and scroll down to Support
  • Select Initialisation of Premium and press OK when prompted.


If your settings don’t match the ones above, try these steps instead:

  • Press the Home / Smart button on your remote control
  • Go to Premium and choose Option (or press GREEN if using a standard remote control)
  • Select Initialisation of Premium and press OK when prompted.


After completing these steps, the NOW TV app should appear within the Premium section of your apps home screen.
