How to fix black playback screen on your Mac

If you’re trying to watch NOW TV on a Mac using Silverlight and you’re seeing a black playback window or black window with a white pop-up box, here’s a quick fix:

Step 1:

Go to your dock, open Finder and select Preferences.

Step 2:

Under the General tab, tick the Hard disks check box. This creates a desktop shortcut to your hard disk.

Step 3:

On your desktop, click on the Macintosh HD (or Macintosh SSD) shortcut. Select the folders highlighted in the image above, to locate your mspr.hds file:

Step 4:

Tap the cmd key and left click your mouse at the same time. Select Get info, and then rename the file to mspr.hds.old.

All done.

Wait a couple of a minutes for your changes to take effect, then sign in to your NOW TV account and start watching. Enjoy.
